Our Exchange in Connemara

On Tuesday 5th October 2010 we left Limerick early in the morning to travel for 4 hours to Carna, in Connemara, in the west of Ireland, where people still speak the language of the celts.

We spent the whole day sharing presentations on Argentina and Ireland, music, dance, food and games. We also had a chance to celebrate our second birthday away from home. Belen's last week and Andrea's today. On the way back we stopped for dinner and we arrived in Limerick at 9 pm. A very enjoyable journey.

Summary of the Week

Carolina, student of Chemical Engineering, and her teacher Florencia, after a visit to Roche Laboratories in Clarecastle, where she could learn about Roche operations and proceedings with one of the chemists on the plant.

This week we visited two schools in Limerick: Castletroy College -where we gave a presentation for a group of almost 200 students- and Scoil Carmel , an all-girls school, where we spent most of the day sharing presentations, songs, dances and food. In the picture you can see some of our people introducing mate, alfajores and dulce de leche.

C!Ties! Our first intake of a band with lots of potential.

On Friday 1st October we were all highly impressed by this intimate concert given by C!TIES.
This up and running band from Ennis came to Limerick and performed a set of their outstanding material for the group of Argentineans, followed by a press conference.
The concert was set in a studio which once was a chapel. Great atmosphere for this cool show.
Thanks C!ties!
